Woodmere Middle School Student Council Awarded for Implementing Recycling Program

Sanitary District #1 recently recognized the Woodmere Middle School Student Council for implementing an innovative recycling program in their school. The students will be distributing recycling bins to each classroom after discovering a need for an organized and productive system to recycle at school. They will work to put the program into effect in other schools throughout the district. Sanitary District #1 Chairman James Vilardi and Superintendent George Pappas were on hand to present the students with certificates for their environmental stewardship.

“The Woodmere Middle School Student Councilmembers serve as role models for their peers and community members,” stated Sanitary District #1 Chairman James Vilardi. “We look forward to working with these bright and energetic students as they work to bring their program to other schools throughout the District.”
