Collection Guidelines

The following regulations are necessary for the efficient operation of our district:

  • Regular garbage collections will be made twice per week, either on Monday and Thursday, or Tuesday and Friday depending on your section of the district. Recyclable materials will be collected every other Wednesday.
  • All rubbish should be placed at the side or rear of the house at the location of the garbage cans.  Our employees are not permitted to collect from inside of buildings, cellars, or garages.
  • On collection days dogs must be kept under restraint so as not to interfere with the collection process.
  • On collection days fences and/or barriers extending around the garbage area should be unlocked allowing access to the collectors.

CONTAINERS

All garbage must be stored in the regular 32 gallon or smaller light weight garbage cans with proper covers, weight not to exceed 75 lbs.  Containers in excess of 32 gallons will not be collected.

  • Heavy rubbish or grass clippings should not be mixed with garbage.
  • Vacuum cleaner waste, dog excretions, dog hair, cat litter and saw dust must be contained in plastic and/or paper bags.

RUBBISH

  • All tree branches, hedges, bush clippings, etc. must be tied with cord into bundles not longer than four feet by two feet in diameter.
  • Grass cuttings and leaves must be placed in metal containers, baskets or heavy plastic bags, but not in cardboard boxes.
  • Heavy loads of rubbish such as: furniture, appliances, metal, etc. will be collected by special truck upon telephone request to the district.

These regulations are required to protect the health of the community and the safety of our employees so tha the high quality of our service may be maintained.  Violation of these regulations may result in non-collection of your garbage and rubbish.
